Is there such a thing? All I know is that over the Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Vanilla Chamomile Sleep Body Lotion (long name!) that I just put on my very chapped hands still dry from Utah, I can smell remnants of last night's "I'm so glad to be home I will cook you your favorite anything" meal…Prosciutto Asparagus and what was supposed to be garlic pull-aparts using Rhodes Frozen Dinner Rolls, but I didn't put enough of them in the pan to make them rise and stick together, so they looked more like delicious little garlic rocks…experimenting is always fun! It's one of those kind of meals that I don't mind remembering fondly the aroma the next day, and it seems like asparagus is getting more expensive, which probably means we aren't at the height of the season anymore, which means I won't be buying it until next season. I was able to get great deals on it this summer, so we have been eating it like crazy. But before you start the main dish, you need to start the meal by beginning preparations for the "Little Garlic Rocks". I hope that Rhodes doesn't take offense to the rock analogy, because they weren't as hard as rocks once they were baked, but we all know that the less time you take to let yeast rolls rise, the heavier the bread…I like heavier breads. The
to pack up the Halloween things, here’s one more idea that you are NOT going to want to forget! We just had one of those Relief Society “meetings” last night – a Holiday Baking Extravaganza. Even though Halloween has passed, I had seen this incredibly hideous idea and I was afraid that I might forget about it if I didn’t follow through and make it before next year…and this is one that I don’t want to forget. I was cruising around the Rhodes website and when all of a sudden this picture of a basket of ugly fingers was before me! You have to go check these out! I don’t want to pass on an idea or recipe that I haven’t personally tried, that is overly time consuming or hard to make. So I had to try it: Wicked Witch Dippers. Our extravaganza had 4 categories…Potluck Superstar, Kids in the Kitchen, Impress the In-laws and Spooky Sensations. Can you guess which one I made them for? I won the category – okay, I was the only one that entered anything in that category, so the win was by default! The ones on the website used a white bread roll dough, but I used the multi-grain roll dough – the seeds and color were perfect for my pudgy, grotesquely gruesome witch fingers. These took a little time, and I know how I will do them differently next time. I was a little

Scott and I went shopping for pumpkins last night at WalMart (yes WalMart!) I came to the realization that gone were the days of the long treks out to the pumpkin patch/haunted maze/scary woods. Everyone is so busy getting ready for their respective projects that organizing an outing any further than the next freeway off-ramp seems highly unlikely. With Megan gone taking care of her big sister, Christie, there isn’t anyone to press the matter. I asked the boys on the way out the door if they would like a pumpkin to carve and they both said “sure” so we got to choose their pumpkins for them. Pumpkin carving has always been a fun tradition. I talked to a friend the other day…an “empty nester”. She said that they didn’t decorate for any of the holidays anymore except Christmas. That made me a little sad, but it also made me determined to decorate as long as I can access the decorations. My decorations are like old friends – even the new ones! I like to unwrap them and sit them around the house, like I would an old friend that might come for a visit. They only stay for a short while, but they will always be welcome! While at WalMart, I also picked up some canned pumpkin. I don’t make pies, but I love it in other recipes. One of
